Lava lamp

 
 
 
The baking soda in water makes bubbles that float in to  the oil and stay. After a while the bubbles go back to the water.

    Great diagram of our lava lamp experiment. You explained that the bubbles float up into the oil, stay and then go back down. How does this happen?
